OOTD – The Lyra from Lady V

I know a lot of women struggle with wearing dresses. They want to wear them, but they don’t know which shape suits them and where to find a great dress and don’t feel great in the dresses they try on… So I figured it was about time I dedicated a post to one of the most versatile dresses out there that will look great on all types of bodies and sizes and that you should definitely check out: the Lyra from Lady V.

They come in a variety of colours and prints and often come in new designs, but I’m not super intro that retro look so I just stick to the solid colours and the occasional floral print. Their sizing is generous and they have megastretch anyway, so I suggest sizing down a size. I get them from the Lady V London website, but if your favourite is sold out then try Google, they retail in other shops as well. This shape is always called Lyra, so they’re easy to find!

Okay, back to the dress. The reason why this is such a great, universal dress is because it is designed with women and their needs in mind. You guys know I don’t really care about flattering, but there are so many women out there who want to highlight or create a waist, show off their cleavage, flatter their hips and thighs, cover their arms, and this dress does all of that and more. It comes in a high stretch fabric and you can adjust the waist, so even if you lose or gain weight this baby will still fit. It’s the easiest dress you’ll ever find and I can guarantee you 100% that you’ll feel great in it every time. I have 6 or 7 or them, to me they’re the perfect dress to wear when I have 30 seconds to get ready in the morning and want to look great with zero effort. They hit just at the knee for me, but keep in mind that I’m a giant. On average height, they’ll hit just below the knee. Go check ‘m out, you won’t regret it!

OOTD – white on white

You wouldn’t say it judging from my milky white complexion, but I tan like crazy. Since I don’t live in a sunny country, and I’m obsessed with sunblock, I’m uberpale 10 months a year. During those 10 months, I often hear I can’t or shouldn’t wear white, or that I should get a tan first cause I’m too pale to wear white. Too bad I LOVE the colour, so y’all better put on some sunglasses because this fluorescently pale person is gonna rock white dresses either way, hah!

I was immediately drawn to the design and print of this white Belloya dress. I’m always a sucker for floral and tropical prints and wrap details. Although it’s not a true wrap dress, it does have the benefit of being able to adjust the waist a bit, which is always an advantage I think. Perfect to dress up to a party or to the office, but I’ve also worn it with sneakers for a day in the city. This one will definitely go with me on holiday as well (it’s made from a natural breathable fabric, so nice and cool to wear in warm weather).

This one fits rather roomy and has quite a lot of stretch, so I sized down 1 size compared to the size chart and ordered it in a 5. Oh, and if white ain’t your thing… It also comes in black ;).
