My name is Marianne Nykjaer, welcome to my blog. I’m a 30something body activist and opinionated dork. *waves*
I started this blog in the summer of 2013 because as a fuller woman I got bored by the standard plussize tips on how to wear
slimming “flattering” outfits. I mean, who wants to wear bootcut jeans and V-neck tops and absolutely nothing else for the rest of their lives? Life is just too short for boring clothes.
As I grew and evolved as a person, so did my blog. While sharing my personal style and plussize outfits is still an important part of what I do here, it has also become so much more. More and more, it reflects my views and feelings on how to love yourself and be confident, and live life to the fullest. In all aspects, from our minds to our closets, from how we treat ourselves to how we treat others.
So this is not a blog that tells you what to wear by listing all the things you can’t wear. It’s so much more fun to let go of the rules, to wear whatever you want and have fun with it. This is not a blog that tells you your body is not ready for summer. Because there is no wrong way to have a body, and you are good enough just the way you are (repeat it until you believe it!). This is not a blog where women are trashed just so that others can feel treasured. Yes, curvy women are gorgeous, but so are other women, in all shapes and sizes. Let’s lift eachother up instead of tearing eachother down.
We live in a society where billion dollar industries are driven on the insecurities of women, and I do not want to play that game anymore. I play my own game now: my body, my rules.
So welcome to my world, where black is a happy color, inspiration has no size and every body is a good body.
