I did a quick little check, and I can count the number of times I’ve worn jeans on the blog on one hand. I’m really a dress/skirt kind of girl. That is mostly due to the fact that most jeans don’t fit me properly and are a total bitch to wear. I need to get them 2 sizes bigger so they fit my thighs, and then I’m left with a huge gap in the back. They don’t stay up, so I find myself pulling them up all. day. long. Most of them are too low waisted, leaving my wobbly bits exposed. The list of things I hate about jeans is pretty long, hah! Then again, I really like showing off my legs and, ehm, buttocks, and the right pair of jeans can certainly do that. You see, a real love/hate relationship!
So I thought today, I’d show you guys how I do jeans. I was never a “jeans, t-shirt and sneakers” kind of girl, I still like to glam it up a bit, in this case with a velvet sequined blazer and peeptoe boots. I think next to dresses, blazers are my favorite item to wear: it’s the last layer you add to a look so you can spice up the whole look with just one item, and the right kind of blazer does amazing things for your shape. Personally I think a blazer should be long and tailored, but the funny thing is that the majority of plussize blazers are short and boxy. Why, I will never understand.
This one is from Violeta, Mango’s curvier sister. I’m not a huge fan of the brand in general due to design and fit issues, but when I saw this blazer a couple of seasons ago I just HAD to have it. it’s always good to look around at brands you don’t normally buy from, because you never know what you might find.
Anyway, this is a fairly casual look… done my way. I hope you like it!
